In collaboration with the China Foundation for Rural Development (formerly known as the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation), Yum China initiated the "One Yuan Donation" program in 2008. This project has evolved into a multifaceted program encompassing "Nutritional Meals, Modern Kitchen, Nutritional Education, and Digital Classroom," focusing on both nutritional support and educational assistance to safeguard the growth of rural children.

In 2023, the "One Yuan Donation" introduced new features, including a dedicated mini-program for monthly donations, multi-branded charity meals, and environment-centered initiatives.

As one of China's early crowdfunding charity projects, the One Yuan Donation has helped to facilitate the shift in China's public philanthropy enabling people from all walks of life to participate. With the launch of our monthly donation mini-program, we are aiming to encourage a shift towards sustained incremental contributions that better enable to program to support people and communities and need.
