Not long after the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, Yum China immediately donated three million yuan directly to Tongji Hospital, a hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science & Technology. This provided each of the first groups of medical professionals caring for COVID-19 patients with aid worth 3,000 yuan.
In 2020, Yum China provided over 1,450 hospitals and medical centers with over 170,000 free meals of KFC, Pizza Hut and Little Sheep.
